VAT Collection & Remittance Notice – Consistent company information for eBay account, VAT account and Managed Payments Services

In 2021, there will be changes to the VAT treatment of imports into the UK and EU as well as certain shipments within the EU.

In light of this, eBay will collect and remit VAT for the import and/or supply of goods within the UK and/or the EU in certain circumstances. Sellers with VAT registered businesses must ensure that the company information for their eBay account is consistent with the company information for their VAT registration.

We strongly recommend that you assess the impact on your business and prepare for the changes before they are implemented. If you have questions about your VAT obligations, please contact your tax advisor.

Additionally, eBay plans to provide sellers in Southeast Asia with managed payment services in 2021. Companies using the Managed Payment services must ensure that their company information is consistent with their eBay account.
